Me time ; )

The holiday weekend is coming to an end and although some can't wait for life to return to normal, I'm actually saddened that all the family activities that surround the holidays are over (at least until Christmas). After watching, 'Four Christmases' I am reminded at how lucky I am to have a wonderful family.
If you are like me, you started decorated for Christmas and listening to the cheesy holiday music before Thanksgiving even arrived. Now it's time to wrap up the decorating and party planning menus and settle in for a little ME time before the holiday rush starts again. Scheduling ME time during the holidays is important especially for us women. There is so much unnecessary pressure for perfection and everyone needs to 'check-out' once in awhile. Me time has a different meaning to us all. Some may find doing crosswords and knitting socks ideal or finally learning how make homemade pasta. Some may take refuge in outings with their girlfriends -gabbing over coffee or catching a good movie (that reminds me to make some calls). My few minutes of me time start at the beginning of my day. Unfortunately my toddler doesn't truly allow this to be uninterrupted but I wouldn't have it any other way. Timer Start: 20 minutes - my hubby jumps in the shower for his morning routine and my magic transformation from sleepy mom to semi-hot housewife begins. Thanks to the best cocktail of skin care accompanied by an artillery of cosmetics I'm fresh-faced and ready to tackle whatever the day may bring. More on the details of my magical mom makeover soon.
